1. Project Title: “Developing and upgrading Character Recognition Systems for Bharati script”

The aim of the project is to develop and upgrade the existing character recognition system for Bharati script. More details about Bharati script can be obtained here. www.bharatiscript.com

The candidate must have a sound background in mathematics (linear algebra, ordinary differential equations) and programming (C, C++, MATLAB). A bachelors or masters degree with a first class in engineering, mathematics or physics would be ideal. A prior knowledge in pattern recognition and neural networks would be ideal but not essential. The candidate should be able to pick up this background during the course of the project. The candidate will also be required to the involved in font design and make periodic modifications to Bharati fonts.

2. Project Title: “Developing a Virtual Reality based gaming system to be used for Stroke Rehabilitation”

The aim of the project is to develop a Virtual Reality based gaming system that can be used for Stroke rehabilitation. See this review paper for background information.

The candidate must have a sound background in mathematics (linear algebra, ordinary differential equations) and programming (C, C++, MATLAB/PYTHON). A bachelors or masters degree with a first class in engineering, mathematics or physics would be ideal. A prior experience with use of UNITY software and devices like Kinect or Wii would be extremely desirable.
