The role of chaotic vasomotion
Vasomotion refers to the spontaneous rhythmic contraction and dilation of blood vessels observed in many vascular bed. We hypothesize that:
- Vasomotors form a chemical network
- Elements of this network interact to produce desynchronized activity
- Chaotic, desynchronized vasomotion enhances oxygenation in skeletal muscle
