When different species of cellular slime molds occupy the same habitat in close proximity, then aggregates, slugs, spores, amoebae all could co-exist together. In such situations, how an individual amoeba integrates signals from a variety of sources and responds to is what we would like to know. Combined with high resolution microscopy and mutants impaired in signaling pathway, we are investigating a small part of this cellular cross-talk.
