Mtech in biological engineering

Eligibility Criteria

General category candidate must have secured at least 75% marks in Std. XII board exam (with Mathematics, Physics as the compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Biology or Biotechnology) or any of the equivalent qualifying exam. (65% for SC-ST category candidates).

Ms in biological engineering

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate is eligible to appear for JEE Main in three consecutive years, from the year he appears for Std. XII. (12th Class) One attempt includes January attempt and April attempt of the same year.

Post-graduate Programmes

Mtech in biological engineering

Eligibility Criteria

  • 1. B.E/B.Tech in Biotechnology/ Chemical Engineering/ Industrial Biotechnology/ Biochemical Engineering/ Biological Engineering with a GATE score in Biotechnology (BT)/ ChemicalEngineering (CH).
  • 2.Any other branch of Engineering with GATE score in Biotechnology (BT)/ ChemicalEngineering (CH)/ Life Sciences (XL).
  • 3.Student intake: 15 per year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 1.Master’s degree in any area of Engineering. Candidates with Master’s in biotechnology, chemicalengineering, computer science and electrical engineering are particularly encouraged to apply.
  • 2.Master’s degree in any area of Science. Candidates with Master’s in any branch of life sciences, chemistry, mathematics and physics are particularly encouraged to apply. Master’s in Science must have qualified in GATE or any other national research fellowship examinations (CSIR-JRF, UGC-JRF, DBT-JRF, etc).
  • 3. Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • 4.Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences
  • 5.Master’s degree in Veterinary Science
  • 6.Four-year undergraduate degree [B.Tech., B.E., B.Sc.(Agri.), etc.] with CGPA above 8.0 or 75% aggregate and having qualified in GATE or any other national research fellowship examinations.​

Screening Procedure

  • Entrance exams will happen in four separate streams covering various areas:
  • 1.Biological Sciences will involve aspects of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, etc.
  • 2.Biological Engineering will involve aspects of Material and energy balances, Thermodynamics, Biological rate processes (Enzyme Kinetics, Microbial Growth and Product Formation Kinetics, Kinetics of Intracellular Processes (e.g. gene expression, protein synthesis, protein folding), Transport phenomena, Bioreactor design and analysis and Downstream processing
  • 3.Chemical Sciences will test on aspects of Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry.
  • 4.Computational Biology will test on aspects of mathematics, bioinformatics and computing.
  • Candidates will be short-listed for the interview based on performance in the screening test(s). Final decision on selection will be made based on overall performance.

M.Tech. in Clinical Engineering

Eligibility Criteria
