Azadirachtin

Cambium meristematic cells (CMC) being innately undifferentiated, offer multiple advantages over dedifferentiated cells (DDC) for secondary metabolite production. CMCs display superior performance compared to DDC including faster growth rate, consistent product synthesis over time, genetic stability and lesser aggregation in suspensions. This research group is activity engaged in exploring CMCs for the production of phytochemical azadirachtin, a biopesticide from Azadirachta indica (Neem) in a robust and sustainable way.
