Department of Biotechnology at IIT Madras has the state-of-the-art Gamma Irradiation Chamber facility exclusive for research and development. The equipment has the capacity to provide a radiation dose of 10.77 gy/minute.We offer irradiation services to both biological (cell lines and mice etc) and non-biological samples (polymers and elemental materials etc) on payment basis. Irradiation projects involving mice and other mammalian model systems are taken only upon producing valid Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) approval from the respective institutions.Our services are open to other departments¢res at IIT Madras, other educational &research institutions and industries as well.
