The Biological Sciences group comprises 17 faculty members dedicated to understanding the intricate cellular and sub-cellular processes influencing health and disease. Their research addresses the complex nature of biological systems using a multiscale approach, from exploring protein structure and function at the nanoscale to examining organism physiology and behaviour at the macroscale. Major research themes include cancer, cardiovascular disease, neuroscience, developmental biology and infection biology.
